Who can submit a report?

Anyone who can provide a genuine, relevant observation about Bengaluru may submit a report, subject to our submission guidelines.

Do I need to be a professional journalist?

No. You don't need journalism qualifications or professional equipment. Clear observations, accurate information, and responsible reporting are what matter.

What photographs or videos can I upload?

Submit original media that you have the right to share. Include relevant context and avoid manipulated images, misleading captions, or unnecessary exposure of private information.

What location details should I provide?

Include the neighbourhood, street, nearby landmark and, if known, the ward. Tell us when you observed the issue, especially if it may have changed since then.

Will every submission be published?

No. Our editorial team may verify, edit, defer, or reject submissions. Publication depends on relevance, evidence, privacy, safety, and editorial standards.

How long will publication take?

Review times may vary depending on the nature of the report and the verification required. Submission does not guarantee publication by a particular date.

Will my name be published?

Contributor attribution depends on the publication arrangement and your consent. Tell us if you have a safety or privacy concern. We may need to verify your identity privately before considering a request for anonymity.

Can I report an issue anonymously?

You can contact our team to discuss an anonymity request. We cannot promise that every submission can be published anonymously, and we may need additional information to verify a report.

Can I submit an issue that has already been reported?

Yes, if you have new evidence, a useful update, or a different perspective. Mention any previous report or complaint number you have so we can connect related information.

Does The City 24/7 forward complaints to government authorities?

Not necessarily. Our primary role is to review and publish civic reports. Where appropriate, we may share reporting routes or seek an official response. We do not replace official complaint channels.

How can I update a report or tell you that an issue is resolved?

Contact our team with the report URL, location, and supporting evidence. We will review the update before changing the published report or its status.

What if I have submitted incorrect information?

Contact us as soon as possible with the report URL and corrected details. We review correction requests and update published content where warranted.

Can I submit a positive story about my neighbourhood?

Absolutely. We welcome stories about community clean-ups, restored public spaces, environmental initiatives, and practical solutions that make Bengaluru a better place.
